Friends,
I first introduced the PANS/PANDAS book project to my readers and Facebook followers just under three months ago, in early September. At that time it was something I sincerely hoped would happen but couldn’t guarantee. I’m pleased to offer the following updates (it’s definitely happening!) and invite you to participate if you haven’t already. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and a great time to consider donating to this critical work.
- Michigan State University School of Journalism, our primary partners in this project, got the PANS/PANDAS Bias Busters course approved and on the schedule for Spring 2025. As of last month, the class is full with 20 students registered, and they even have a wait list! The class will begin meeting next month on Wednesday, January 15.
- To date, we have raised $11,245, or 74% of our total $15,000 fundraising goal. I’m deeply appreciative of all of the contributions we have received, from individuals–including the co-founder and marketing director of Front Edge Publishing, our primary contact at MSU, and countless friends and family–and from the following highly respected PANS/PANDAS nonprofit organizations: Northwest PANDAS/PANS Network, or NWPPN, Look. Foundation, and PANDAS Network.
- I am initiating another round of appeals today and tomorrow (Giving Tuesday) in hopes of raising the remaining $3,755 needed to fully fund the project. I’ve created a new page on my website where you can learn more about the book project and stay abreast of new developments. Here is the link: PANS/PANDAS Book Project.

Sincere thanks for the time you’ve taken to read this update, for learning about PANS/PANDAS and helping to spread awareness far and wide.
